Sorry To Bother You Shares Counterproductive Social Commentary

KOP reviews Sorry to Bother You and discusses why the movie’s creativity leads to a counterproductive social commentary.

Sorry To Bother You

KOP disputes the ongoing socio-economic narrative that there are deadly conditions of working-class life and the only way to break out of it somehow by lottery-winning luck or through supposed merit. He also disputes the idea the writer/director Boots Riley tries to make that regarding poverty being a system of bad choices. “Yes, maybe you can make better choices and be the crab that gets out of the bucket — but that’ll be at the expense of all the other crabs in the bucket.”

KOP also discusses the messages and the characters and the sci-fi component to the movie that has everyone buzzing.
